ABOUT ME
Prof. Dr. Çağla GÜR completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees at Hacettepe University. In 2006, she completed her PhD in the Department of Child Development Education at Gazi University, Institute of Educational Sciences. She became an Associate Professor in the field of Child Development in 2014 and was promoted to Professor in 2021.
She served as the Head of the Child Development Associate Degree Program for two years and as the Head of the Department of Child Development for four years. She holds an international postgraduate diploma (PgDip) in Clinical Psychiatry. She has received international training in Positive Psychology practices and is a member of the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA). She has also completed various internationally accredited and national training programs in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Her academic work focuses on positive thinking, thinking skills education, early intervention, happiness, child development, and education. She has authored and co-authored articles published in SCI- and SSCI-indexed and field-indexed international and national journals, as well as books and conference papers, and has led various research projects.
Currently serving as a faculty member in the Department of Basic Education at the Faculty of Education at Cyprus International University, Prof. Dr. Çağla GÜR is also the Editor-in-Chief of the international academic journal International Journal of Positivity & Well-Being.
Her professional work in the fields of positive thinking, well-being, and early intervention includes chairing academic congresses, conducting workshops, organizing panels, leading projects, and working with children and adolescents, as well as parents and teachers. She also provides parent education programs.
