ON TAKING GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF…

ON TAKING GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF…

Taking good care of ourselves affects our quality of life. When we take good care of ourselves, we can be productive and beneficial to our children and those around us. If we constantly feel lethargic, lack energy, and are in a negative mood, how productive can we be for ourselves and others? How can we be role models for future generations?

A productive life is closely related to being at peace with oneself, paying attention to one's physical and mental health, and being mindful of one's thoughts (how one thinks, the content and energy of one's thoughts).

- Adopting an active lifestyle, prioritizing activities like walking and sports (Exercise is good for both physical and mental health)

- Developing healthy eating habits (balanced and healthy eating positively affects both our bodies and our psychological state; vegetables and fruits, in particular, are said to have positive effects on psychological well-being)

- Mindset/Psychological Health (Negative, unsolvable, and constantly repetitive thoughts can negatively affect our psychological health and, in later stages, our physical health due to negative psychology and low energy levels. Instead, it is necessary to have positive, solution-oriented thoughts and develop constructive feelings towards ourselves and others. Having inner peace and feeling that our energy is positive is very relaxing for every individual.

Damage to mindset and the inability to cope with negative moods can lead to certain behavioral problems and addictions. Some of these include:

*Exhibiting excessive anger and rage - always seeing oneself as right - constantly blaming others, constantly complaining

*Food addiction

*Trying to control others Addiction

*The desire to always be right

*Addiction to success

*Addiction to illness – and sometimes, even unconsciously, we can observe that the patient doesn't pursue options for recovery when presented with them, because they use their illness as a tool for complaining or attracting attention.

*Other addictions such as substance, alcohol, and gambling

Based on all this, we can say that how we think significantly affects us. Are constantly recurring, upsetting, and despairing thoughts echoing in our minds? Are we passively listening to them? Or are we trying to silence them by running away from ourselves? Is escape the solution? Or could we be making errors in judgment?

Faulty judgment will bring negative consequences. There are also errors in judgment stemming from acting without thinking, from blindly jumping into the middle of events. This is because insufficient time is allocated to uncovering the facts and thoroughly considering events. Some problems also arise from not wanting to confront unpleasant situations, from leaving them outside of our calculations.

Constantly postponing situations This can lead to events growing into a mountain and becoming insurmountable. Careless behavior can prevent us from acting cautiously by overlooking details. Showing inconsiderate and cruel behavior towards others can cause their anger to be directed towards us, leading them to exhibit negative attitudes and behaviors.

In fact, many times, while blaming the environment for what happens to us, we can understand that these are caused by details we left out of our calculations and plans, if we think about it thoroughly…

Let's look at what we complain about, what we do, how we behave, and what combinations emerge. Let's also consider what combinations might emerge if we behave differently. Sometimes we have the same ingredients to cook a meal, but by varying the proportions of ingredients and different spice blends, we can obtain different kinds of dishes and flavors. By adding different nuances to the same input, we can obtain different outputs, as long as we think solution-oriented in challenging situations and realize our own strength. Let's not forget that in every situation, we have a choice, and our choice has an impact on the resulting outcomes. It is effective.
